As parents, we all strive to give our children the best tools for success in life and school. The ability to think critically, solve problems effectively, and adapt to new challenges is more important than ever. At Atypical Learning, we teach children how to "frame their thinking," a skill that will set them on a path to lifelong success.
Framing thinking is the process of structuring and organizing thoughts to better understand, analyze, and solve problems. It's about adopting the right perspectives, asking the right questions, and using effective strategies to navigate both academic and real-life challenges.
I love summer because it gives me the opportunity to teach these crucial skills and strategies in a fun and engaging way. When young people learn to” frame their thinking,” it greatly influences reading, writing and math, which can be areas in which students struggle.
Metacognition, “thinking about your thinking” is one of the skills we teach that enhances a student’s ability to “frame their thinking.” It involves awareness and regulation of one's own thought processes. Metacognitive skills enable learners to plan, monitor, and evaluate their understanding and performance, leading to more effective learning, problem-solving, and eventually independent learning.
